About NPC

The National Pharmaceutical Council (NPC) is supported by approximately 20 of the nation’s major research-based pharmaceutical member companies. NPC sponsors a variety of research and education projects aimed at demonstrating that the appropriate use of pharmaceuticals improves both patient treatment outcomes and the cost effective delivery of overall health care services.

Our Board of Directors consists of a representative from each of our member companies. The annual dues paid by our members make up the core budget, which funds several small to mid-size research-based projects, pilot studies, ongoing educational activities, and the operations of the Council, currently run by a staff of 15.

In projects large and small, we seek to partner with other groups that have sufficient interest in the results to provide support in kind. In fact, the search for partnerships is dominant in the NPC's entire orientation. Through these partnerships and research-based initiatives, we demonstrate the theoretical value of pharmaceuticals through practical application. The programs and products detailed elsewhere in this site are examples of what these partnerships can do.
