The 2008 NPC Annual Forum will be held just one week after the Presidential election. Our agenda will blend the new political dynamics impacting health care and the critical conversation around evidence-based medicine.
The focus of our Annual Forum and much of the work NPC is currently undertaking is in the area of evidence-based medicine and its potential effects on health care decision-making and outcomes. The election, and subsequent actions by the Administration and the new Congress, will undoubtedly affect the possible creation of a national comparative effectiveness entity and the broader issue of reform of the American health care system.
NPC's overarching mission is to sponsor, participate in, and promote the scientific analyses of the appropriate use of pharmaceuticals and the clinical and economic value of improved health outcomes from pharmaceutical innovation.
