Late-Breaking Session: Emerging Evidence on Racial and Ethnic Disparities

This late-breaking session focuses on emerging evidence on health disparities by race and ethnicity. The work explores disparities in the context of prenatal care, hospice, prescription drug use and spending, and breast cancer outcomes. The session will explore critical evidence on drivers of disparities in these clinical areas with a particular focus on how geography interacts with disparities in access and outcomes. The session will include a presentation of a study conducted by NPC and the University of Washington's Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation on "Variation in Prescription Drug Utilization and Spending by Race/Ethnicity and US State, Payer, and Health Condition."
