The Council for Affordable Health Coverage's (CAHC) hosted a webinar, Price Controls: Understanding the Risks and Tradeoffs, on May 26, 2021 to discuss the current landscape of policy proposals aimed at lowering the prices of prescription drugs, and the risks associated with market intervention.

At the forefront of Congressional debate around healthcare is the desire to improve access to and affordability of prescription drugs. However, there is intense disagreement over the best way to achieve that end. What is often absent in this debate is a candid discussion of the tradeoffs associated with the various policies. The panel of experts explored the trade-offs and risks associated with current proposals to lower the cost of prescription drugs.
