AcademyHealth, in collaboration with NPC, hosted an insightful webinar that uncovered the impact and possible changes to price transparency reporting.
About the Webinar
The early days of federally mandated price transparency reporting have included, perhaps not unexpectedly, data challenges, questions about its usefulness, and in some cases, simple noncompliance.
During this webinar, held October 6, 2021, panelists discussed what additional efforts are necessary to provide consumers with accurate, useful information to make informed decisions about the cost and quality of care. The discussion was especially timely as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services moved to strengthen its efforts by increasing fines and payers prepared for the next set of reporting requirements for covered items and services, which eventually will include prescription drugs. Be sure to check out the summary blog.
The program is part of a Health Spending webinar series, jointly sponsored by AcademyHealth and NPC. The series seeks to promote serious, evidence-based discussions related to costs, value, and allocation of health care spending and how those expenditures can best generate improved health outcomes.
