Author: The National Pharmaceutical Council, in collaboration with cancer organizations
This white paper, authored by a collaboration of cancer organization in partnership with NPC, suggests cancer patients may not be receiving appropriate pharmaceutical care. The paper's findings also indicate that there is a slow transition of new knowledge into clinical practice. The authors outline concrete actions intended to fill in gaps in knowledge, enhance quality assessment, and optimize application of pharmaceuticals to cancer care. They also suggest that collaboration between the public and the private sectors, including areas such as research, education, advocacy, and database and information system development, are critical to success in improving cancer treatment.
