NPC will present and exhibit at the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy’s (AMCP) Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy Annual Meeting, which takes place through April 19-22 at the Moscone West Convention Center in San Francisco, CA.

On April 19, the Comparative Effectiveness Research (CER) Collaborative, a partnership among NPC, AMCP and the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research, along with the University of Maryland, will host its in-person, four-hour training session from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm PT. Participants in the CER Certificate Program choose to attend one of these sessions either in-person or all online as part of the continuing education program. This program guides pharmacists and other clinical decision-makers by advancing their expertise in assessing evidence that comes from new, unfamiliar research designs, particularly observational research methods, indirect treatment comparisons, modeling and meta-analyses, while making use of the online CER Collaborative tool and resources. In addition, an updated program will be rolled out in April to streamline the learning experience and to make it more widely available for company-wide training.

The CER Collaborative’s tools and resources also will be utilized during the AMCP Foundation’s 16th Annual Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Competition on April 21. The competition gives students an opportunity to hone a variety of skills, including critical analysis, presentation and research skills. Additionally, it allows students to view different styles and processes that can be used in effective formulary management.

On April 21 from 11:45 am – 2:45 pm PT, NPC has two poster presentations, “Is Real-World Evidence Cited in P&T Monographs and Therapeutic Class Reviews?” in partnership with the University of Arizona, and “Got CER? Educating Health Care Decision-Makers for Practice in the Future:  New Tools for New Challenges” in partnership with the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.
