Washington, D.C. – The National Pharmaceutical Council (NPC) today announced the appointment of Tanya Bailey, MS, to the executive leadership team in the role of Chief of Staff. She will work directly with President and CEO John O’Brien to drive the NPC team’s execution against its strategic plan while leading initiatives in membership engagement and educational events and meetings.
“Tanya has built a best-in-class membership experience for NPC members over the last three years and is the person I’ve relied on just about every day since I joined NPC,” said Dr. O’Brien. “She is an exceptional leader, and I’m thrilled she is stepping into this role as Chief of Staff to help us work more efficiently and strategically while continuing to surprise and delight our members.”
"Our members are the foundation of our organization, and their dedication to advancing innovative health policy research has never been more important,” said Ms. Bailey. “Over the past decade, it has been an honor to be a part of the NPC team and deliver a high-quality membership experience. As Chief of Staff, I look forward to enriching each member company’s engagement with NPC while furthering our impact on health policy on their behalf."
Ms. Bailey is an expert association leader, with over 25 years of experience in event planning. Before serving in her current role, Ms. Bailey served as NPC Head of Membership and Meetings, where she developed and launched member engagement initiatives including NPC Leadership Forums. She first joined NPC in 2015.
Prior to joining NPC, Ms. Bailey was the Vice President for Meetings and Events for Financial Services Roundtable (now the Bank Policy Institute), where she developed and managed executive programming — leading events for chairmen, CEOs, and senior executives at the top 100 financial services institutions in the U.S. Her track record also includes time serving as the Meetings Manager for the Association of Performing Arts Presenters and an event planner at the Public Employees Roundtable.
Ms. Bailey earned her master’s degree in program management for family and community development and her bachelor’s degree in family studies and community development at the University of Maryland College Park.
