Washington, DC – The National Pharmaceutical Council (NPC) announced that it has appointed Jacquelyn (Jackie) McRae, PharmD, MS, Vice President of Policy and External Affairs. As part of NPC’s Communications and External Affairs team, she will be responsible for bridging the communications, policy, and research portfolios of NPC through strategic communications and health policy activities, and driving external engagement with key audiences on important health policy and research initiatives.

“Jackie’s experience in both generating evidence and communicating it to important audiences makes her a perfect fit for NPC," said John O'Brien, President and CEO of NPC. "Her commitment to improving health, particularly for the underserved, by informing policy conversations with research and evidence will advance our work at NPC to foster an environment that supports innovation and patient access. NPC is fortunate she is joining our team."

“Clearly communicating science and policy is hard,” said NPC Chief Communication Officer Michael Pratt. “I’m excited to have an experienced leader in research and policy bringing her talents to NPC's external affairs efforts at this critical time.”

As a pharmacist, researcher, and communicator with a knack for creativity, Dr. McRae’s work is driven by a personal mission to advance the health of the nation, particularly the underserved. She served on the Board of the Maryland Public Health Association and is a former Post-Doctoral Fellow of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (associated with Thomas Jefferson University and Janssen Scientific Affairs). She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications.

"NPC’s mission to conduct policy-relevant research and communicate it with impact has never been more important," said Dr. McRae. "With the increasing need for transparent, evidence-based information, I look forward to advancing NPC’s work to build relationships with stakeholders to help inform a data-driven and robust conversation."
