Survey Data Shows Physicians See Pharmaceuticals as Leading Contributor to Improved Health Outcomes

Research by RTI Health Solutions and the National Pharmaceutical Council shows the value of biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical innovations to improving patient health.

If you look at the areas where we’ve had the biggest revolution in health care in the past 25 years, what’s changed the landscape has been biopharmaceutical development and innovation. According to new research by RTI Health Solutions and the National Pharmaceutical Council and published in the Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy, a survey of U.S. physicians attributed 56 percent of improvements in health outcomes since 1990 to biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical innovations. Our findings suggest we may, in fact, be under-investing in the most valuable facet of health technology.
